In the framework of the Radiation to Electronics Project (R2E), the radiation levels in the LHC were measured during the 2015 Pb-Pb and 2016 p-Pb runs and used to benchmark the available FLUKA Monte Carlo simulations, in order to predict the risk of failure for the future HL-LHC operation.
