Search for Supersymmetry with the ATLAS detector using the Recursive Jigsaw Reconstruction Technique in Zero Lepton Final States

In this thesis, I have presented the search for supersymmetry (SUSY) in Run II data at 13 TeV centre-of-mass energy using the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. SUSY searches are described using the supersymmetric partners of quarks (squarks) and gluons (gluinos). Firstly, prospects a...

description In this thesis, I have presented the search for supersymmetry (SUSY) in Run II data at 13 TeV centre-of-mass energy using the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. SUSY searches are described using the supersymmetric partners of quarks (squarks) and gluons (gluinos). Firstly, prospects and then results are shown for an inclusive search for squark and gluino production in hadronic final states using the Recursive Jigsaw technique of variable construction. This novel method is described and simulation studies illustrate potential sensitivity to SUSY in signatures involving jets and missing transverse momentum. Benchmark points for squark and gluino pair production are studied for models with large mass splittings as well as with compressed spectra.
