Prospects and results from the AFP detector in ATLAS

The ATLAS Forward Proton (AFP) detector extend the physics research by enabling the identification of protons that emerge intact from the LHC proton-proton collisions at very low angles. Such processes are typically associated with elastic and diffractive scattering. Recent results and prospectives including also information about the AFP detector structure, its performance, the data collection and the analysis status, will be presented.
