NA64 Status Report 2019

The status of the NA64 experiment aiming at a search for a sub-GeV vector mediator ($A'$) of dark matter ($\chi$) production is presented. New results from the analysis of the combined 2016-2018 data sample on the $A' \to \chi \chi$ decay search are reported. The results on the search for the visible A' decays, $A'\to e^+e^-$ and $X\to e^+e^-$ decay of a 16.7 MeV $X$ boson, which could explain an excess of $e^+e^-$ pairs from the excited 8Be* nucleus transitions, are also presented. Ongoing activities on the detector preparation for the 2021 run are reviewed.
