Light-by-Light Scattering and Search for Monopolium

Sumario: | This summer student project has been dedicated to a general research on light-by light (LbL) scattering and searches for monopole-antimonopole bound state, monopolium, from ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions at CMS. I have used SuperChic3.04 Monte Carlo event generator to generate 20000 event. Due to a missmatch of project with my background, which is Physics, I first had another project that was for computer science background students entitled “CMS Online Monitoring System containerization” . After a month of not doing well with that project I have requested to reassign for another project, and thankfully I got this project. Since I had only half of the time for this project, I thus haven't got the opportunity to learn and analyse the MC simulated data using ROOT software. |
