description | The background estimation for the R-parity-violating Supersymmetry analysis mainly contributes to the search for new phenomena in final states with one lepton (electron or muon) and high jet multiplicities using √s = 13 TeV proton-proton collision data from the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) from 2015 to 2018. The dominant background of this analysis consists of top-quark pair production and W/Z+jets production with the vector boson decay producing at least one lepton. However, a minor component of the data-driven background events with misidentified leptons originating from the multi-jet production is nonnegligible especially in the control regions with lower jet multiplicity. This report primarily focus on evaluating the statistic of the misidentified leptons from the multi-jet events, namely the fake leptons, by implementing the matrix method. |
