| Sumario: | Following an intense global R&D programme, the successful prototyping and production of the different parts of the detector took place during 2017-2019. The first components of the new Inner Tracking System (ITS) started arriving at CERN since summer 2018. They are assembled and tested in Building 167 of CERN’s Meyrin site, where the new ALICE ITS is taking shape, preparing for the final phase of installation and commissioning in 2020. |
