TGC - Thin Gap Chamber
The muon spectrometer is used to detect particles which deposit only a small fraction of their energy in the calorimeters. It is made up of 4,000 individual muon chambers based on four different technologies. The muon chamber shown here is a Thin Gap Chamber (TGC).
