A LARGE ION COLLIDER EXPERIMENT (ALICE) - IDENTIFYING PARTICLES
ALICE has a number of subsystems specifically used for particle identification. Particles are distinguished using detection processes that depend on their mass. The main particle types identified in this way are electrons, pions, kaons and protons.
