PREPARATION FOR ALICE UPGRADES

After the successful completion of Run 2 in December 2018, ALICE started preparations for a major upgrade during Long Shutdown 2. The purpose of the upgrade is to improve the performance of the ALICE detection system and its capability to cope with the increased luminosity of the LHC.
