André Petermann

André Petermann became a CERN staff member in 1955. The CERN Theory Division was at that time still hosted at the University of Copenhagen. Petermann retired from CERN in 1987, but remained affiliated with Organization for the rest of his life. The photos in the album are from Petermann's period in Manchester. André Petermann's doctoral thesis, La normalisation des constantes dans la théorie des quanta, defended in 1952 at University of Lausanne (see facsimile), was later published in Helv. Phys. Acta. 26: 499–520, then co-signed with his advisor Ernst Stueckelberg. The article has been cited more than 500 times.
