New Method to Measure Margins between IP6 Absorbers and TCTs/Triplets

This report summarizes my work progress during the CERN summer student programme 2019. Main results are based on an analysis of a recent Machine Development (MD) at the LHC, which aimed to measure retraction between dump protection elements and Tertiary collimators with a new method (MD2186). A procedure for validating this retraction, based on the MD analysis, is proposed. Furthermore tools used in this analysis were generalized and published as python modules for usage in future analyses.
