Sumario: | This Mathematica Notebook allows calculating the RF surface impedance of copper, in the normal and anomalous skin effect regimes, for any value of frequency, temperature and magnetic field (thus including magnetoresistance effects). The anomalous skin effect appears when the electron mean free path is larger than the electromagnetic skin depth calculated from Maxwell’s equations, where the relationship between fields and current becomes non-local. This happens either at low temperatures, or for large frequencies. Formulas for calculating all relevant material quantities for copper are included in the Notebook. |
