Medipix

The high-energy physics community in general, and CERN in particular, is constantly looking for ways to do things faster, better and more accurately, as well as for opportunities to implement its innovations in society at large. Medipix, a family of successive generations of hybrid pixel detectors, has made the journey from experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to applications in places such as the International Space Station, classrooms, and medical devices.
