Sumario: | The top quark plays an important role in searches for physics beyond the SM, both as a dominant background and as a key signature for the signal. This presentation covers recent LHC searches for SUSY and Exotica with signatures with top quarks, with a focus on the treatment of the top quark background at high pT. It discusses the most notable feature found in the top physics analyses: the disagreement between the top quark pair MC simulation and data. A reweighting procedure, also known as the top pT reweighting, will be summarised and the recent ATLAS and CMS results using the correction will be mentioned. |
