Reference pp cross sections for J/$\psi$ and $\psi$(2S) production studies in p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=8.16$ TeV

The values of the J/$\psi$ and $\psi$(2S) production cross sections in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 8.16$ TeV are reported. These values are obtained from the existing measurements at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV using an energy interpolation combined with an extrapolation in rapidity. They are used as reference for the measurements of J/$\psi$ and $\psi$(2S) nuclear modification factors and double ratios, and for the J/$\psi$ average transverse momentum ($\langle p_{\rm T} \rangle$) and average squared transverse momentum ($\langle p_{\rm T}^{2}\rangle$) determination at the same center-of-mass-energy.
