Search for Neutral MSSM Higgs bosons and other exotic resonances in their decays involving 2 hadronically decaying $\tau$ leptons at CMS

This thesis presents the results of the search for neutral Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) higgs bosons in the fully hadronic di-tau final state and that of model independent di-higgs production in the final state comprising of 2 b-tagged jets and 2 hadronic taus. Both the searches use the full Run-1 luminosity (18.3 fb$^{−1}$ ) at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV of pp collision data collected by CMS experiment. In the absence of signal, exclusion limits have been set on the production cross-sections of both the processes.
