Sumario:This thesis is intended to be a guide to understand the electronics of the silicon pixel detector (VELO) surrounding the interaction point of the LHCb Upgrade I experiment at CERN. It describes both the front-end and back-end detector electronics and their interconnection with the experiment. A special emphasis is given to the contributions of the author to the front-end hardware validation and the back-end firmware development. Although the main purpose of the firmware is to be responsible for the control, synchronization and readout of the experiment when installed, light versions were deployed for hardware validation, module production and testing. This document shows the firmware and test benches devoted to quality assurance of the hardware produced at IGFAE in Santiago de Compostela for the VELO detector.
