During this year of Long Shutdown 2 (LS2) CMS groups work continuously on the many upgrade activities and detector improvements needed to prepare CMS for the Run3 at the LHC and even further forward in preparation for the upgrade to High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). The Hadron Calorimeter (HCAL) measures the energy of “hadrons”, particles made of quarks and gluons (for example protons, neutrons, pions and kaons). |
