Sumario:The first series of the full scale of the magnesium diboride (MgB2) cable assembly arrived at CERN. It is about 140 m long, has a diameter of about 90 mm and will be integrated at CERN in a long flexible cryostat to form a Superconducting Link. This superconducting electrical transmission line will transfer a current of about 120 kA (DC) at a temperature of up to 25 K (Kelvin) or (-248 °C) to power the triplets (magnets) in the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) underground areas.
