Sumario: | A new experimental technique to identify the flavor of jets at the TeV scale is studied in the context of the ATLAS experiment. We focus on the spatial evolution of the distribution of hits in the tracking system and next to the jet axis. The kinematics of B-hadrons decay and the associated time of flight at high scales of transverse momentum challenge conventional approaches based on the reconstruction of charged tracks and of secondary decay vertexes. A trackless approach could offer a better discriminant power at an energy scale interesting for the searches of new physics at LHC. |
