Renovation of the AD Target room and target station

Total renovation of the Anti-proton Decelerator (AD) Target room and in particular of the target station. The target station being a remote controlled movement system to swap targets of different composition. This photo collection shows the tests on the surface before the definitive installation of the target room. The AD Target station plays a vital role in the production of antiprotons. It produces the antiprotons and the rest of the equipment guides the selected particles to the AD hall. The complete installation has been renovated during LS2. The old Target station has been removed during 2019 and the new design has been built and tested in a full scale setup in building 232. The installation will be transferred to the final destination for operation.
