description | The upgraded CMS pixel detector was installed in the extended year-end technical stop of the LHC in 2016/2017. It consists of 124 million pixels arranged in four layers in the barrel region and three end-cap disks on each side of the barrel. The pixel detector plays a key role in the vertex reconstruction and provides seeding hits in the track reconstruction.
In this report are shown the inactive detector components during 2018 data taking, details on the timing adjustment performed with the first collisions, results of two full and several mini bias voltage scans conducted during 2018, cluster properties as well as hit residuals in barrel and forward pixel detectors. |
