Top cross-section and rare top processes at the LHC

This article summarises the recent highlights in top cross-section and rare top processes at ATLAS and CMS, including measurements from precision to rarity over five orders of magnitude apart. No significant deviations from the Standard Model (SM) predictions are observed. Notably, the first evidence of the four-top quark production was established at ATLAS.
