Sumario: | This report summarizes my experience as a CERN 2021 summer student and describes the project I worked on. A local observable (a relationship between sets of Beam Position Monitors) was studied on the LHC lattice, and the possibility of using the observable as a tool in searching for strong error sources in the accelerator’s magnetic elements was explored. First, an introduction to the topic of accelerator optics is briefly introduced in order to provide the reader(possibly the next CERN summer student) with relevant information, and the project is then described in more detail. |
