Feasibility study for the measurement of CP violation in B0 →D−KSπ+ decays at LHCb

Sumario: | We report a feasibility study for measuring mixing-induced CP violation in B0 → D−KSπ+ decays. The analysis is carried out using the full Run 1 and Run 2 data samples corresponding to about 9 fb−1 collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collision at the LHC at center of mass energies 7, 8 and 13 TeV. A cut-based preselection is combined with a highly-efficient multivariate classifier to suppress combinatorial background. Various physics background sources are identified and vetoed. The signal yield is estimated to be 13074 ± 414 by means of a fit to the reconstructed B and KS mass distributions. As first steps towards a time-dependent analysis of the decay, the decay-time resolution and acceptance are studied using simulated decays. |
