Sumario: | For the 2021 CERN Summer Student Programme, I have made a Geant4 simulation of a sampling calorimeter for the nuSTORM exper- iment. The nuSTORM experiment is an experiment which aims to form a better understanding of neutrino-nucleus interactions, contribute to ster- ile neutrino search, and accomplish many other ambitious physics goals, which are being considered by scientists within the team. The detector that I had simulated was expected to record with high precision the energy, track and momentum of the particles produced by the neutrino-nucleus interaction. Within the time limits of the programme, I was able to go as far as simulating a muon event in the detector; further work would allow to fix some minor technical issues that are still remaining. |
