Sumario: | The Phase 2 upgrade of the CMS Drift Tubes electronics targets the detector operation at HL-LHC and will be carried out during LHC Long Shutdown 3: its goal is to make the DT local trigger able to sustain the rates expected at HL-LHC, while improving at the same time its time resolution. In Long Shutdown 2 a Slice Test was setup by equipping four DT chambers, in the same sector, with Phase 2 prototype on-board electronics, streaming data to the readout in parallel with the legacy system. Even though the offline reconstruction based on the new system is not expected to change, it must be proved to match the performance of the legacy one. |
