Sumario: | large number of physics models that extend the Standard Model predict the existence of new, massive, long-lived particles (LLPs). These particles appear in various scenarios beyond the Standard Model represented in supersymmetric models. These are expected to move significantly slower than the speed of light and if they are charged, they should be identifiable as trajectories with high transverse momenta and anomalously large specific ionisation losses. These properties provide an unique opportunity to search for these LLP signatures against a clean background environment. The latest result of this model-independent search using the full Run2 dataset with the ATLAS detector will be presented in this talk. |
