Sumario:
New measurements of top quark mass with enhanced precision from CMS are presented in this seminar. The analyses are performed using pp collision data at 13 TeV collected by the CMS detector. A novel profile likelihood approach is introduced to measure the top quark mass in the lepton+jets final state. The event is reconstructed from a kinematic fit of the decay products to a tt hypothesis for each event and a likelihood method is applied to up to five observables to extract the top quark mass. A second analysis explores the top quark pole mass in the ttbar plus one additional jet events. Events with two opposite sign leptons in the final state are analyzed to measure the normalized differential cross section as a function of the inverse of the invariant mass of the ttbar+1 jet system. The top quark pole mass is then extracted from a chi^2 fit to the next-to-leading order theoretical predictions.
