Addendum to the NA61/SHINE Proposal: Request for oxygen beam in Run 3

This addendum presents the NA61/SHINE request for oxygen beams at 13$A$ GeV/$c$, 30$A$ GeV/$c$ and 150$A$ GeV/$c$ in the Run 3 period. The beam will be used to perform unique measurements of $^{16}$O+$^{16}$O interactions needed to study the diagram of high energy nuclear collisions. The measuremen...

description This addendum presents the NA61/SHINE request for oxygen beams at 13$A$ GeV/$c$, 30$A$ GeV/$c$ and 150$A$ GeV/$c$ in the Run 3 period. The beam will be used to perform unique measurements of $^{16}$O+$^{16}$O interactions needed to study the diagram of high energy nuclear collisions. The measurements belong to the broader programme of systematic study of nucleus-nucleus reactions as a function of energy and system size with ion beams that is planned to be continued beyond LS3. Moreover, the requested oxygen beams will allow to study the fragmentation of intermediate-mass nuclei on protons which is needed in the cosmic-ray physics programme of NA61/SHINE.
