Sumario:
The Future Circular Collider (FCC) is CERN's flagship proposal for a post-LHC accelerator facility. Similarly to the LEP/LHC sequence, it foresees the sequence of an e+e– collider (optimized for precision measurements of Higgs, EW and top quark properties), and a successive 100 TeV pp collider, both hosted in a new ~100km tunnel. A process is ongoing to assess its feasibility (from the technological, technical, financial and political perspectives), and to fully explore its overall physics potential. This talk reviews the arguments supporting the conviction that focusing on the FCC, and investing in it, is good for our science.
