CERNBox Monitoring with Pushgateways

CERNBox is a cloud-based file sharing service made specifically for CERN. It features a connectivity to the EOS storage backend responsible for the data-taking activities of LHC experiments and provides users with backup, security, and compliance for the creation of project spaces and shares. The CERNBox team is working to implement a new update and requires a monitoring system to collect metrics on how the service is used. The goal of collecting these metrics is to give insight into potential problems with the application and to provide visibility for the team to know how resources are being spent. My contributions lie in researching new monitoring tools that can be used for such a monitoring system, writing code to generate additional metrics, and pushing these additions into the working system. I also worked to improve graphical visualization of existing metrics .
