description | The Vertex Locator VELO is the inner tracker of the LHCb located around the proton collision which performs highly precise track and vertex reconstruction. With its location as close as possible to the beam, there are several critical aspects for its safety. Therefore, being in the interface of the LHC, there was a need for a dedicated Safety System to prevent the VELO from any malfunctions. The objective of this project was to first build the Panel for the VELO Safety System according to the VSS matrix to be as user friendly as possible so that a problem can be very quickly spotted and traced to its origin. |
