description The radiation protection group has several tools to ensure radiation safety around CERN accelerators complex. Hybrid pixel detectors can be used for radiation detection and dosimetry and therefore can be applied in the radiation monitoring routine. This project explores the advantage of particle tracking of Timepix3-based detectors for developing a tool that can identify the type of radioactive emission from a sample. My contribution related to the data acquisition and analysis for the process of radiation identification during the Summer Program is reported here.
