description A Rivet plugin for the analysis of absolute and normalised differential top quark pair production cross sections in the dilepton decay channels was created. Simulated events were produced using the POWHEG interfaced with the parton shower generators PYTHIA 8 and HERWIG 7 up to NNLO (next-to-next leading order) accuracy. Histograms of the observables of the top quarks and the t¯t system at the particle and parton levels, and the top quark decay products at the particle level were obtained. The simulated data was compared to the original analysis paper and experimental data obtained by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2016 in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV.
