Sumario: | The BRIL project measures luminosity and monitors beam conditions in the CMS experiment. A certain number of subsystems are currently operating for this purpose. One of these is the Beam Pick-up Timing system for Experiments (BPTX). BPTX performs beam timing measurements with an oscilloscope. This requires a precise gain and offset calibration. A C++ code implementing this calibrations has been developed and tested. There are also two demonstrator systems being introduced during the Run-3: Drift Tubes (DT) and 40 MHz Scouting. The rates of muon in DT are recorded as a histogram and used for luminosity measurement. An emulation histogram generator including an albedo model has been implemented in C++. |
