Using bremsstrahlung to probe LHCb's material map

This report presents a study on using the energy loss via bremsstrahlung in order to get information about the material map of the LHCb detector. It is found that the energy loss depends on kinematic and PID requirements related to the electrons. Nevertheless, differences between material maps can still be detected if ratios are used to compare their energy loss. Only simulated data is used, but it is shown that this technique is also applicable for real data.
