A Geant4 and Python application for the Calorimeter exhibit at the Science gateway

The CERN Science Gateway will be a visitor and education centre for schools, families and the general public. The focus is on the younger audience and the aim is to explain what basic research is and what scientists do here at CERN. Part of this exhibition will be about detector elements, and my summer student project was to work on an exhibit in this category. This exhibit is about calorimeters for high energy particles and part of my work was to write a suitable simulation in Geant4 and find a way to communicate with Geant4 and store all the necessary information for visualisation.
