"Before and After" of the road of Meyrin in 1955 and in 2014

Photos "Before and After" of the 'route de Meyrin' in 1955 and 2014. In 1955, a view of the transport of the Synchrocyclotron (SC) accelerator parts transport on this very road. In 2014, bituminous road and tram replace the old road leading to Meyrin. The 600-MeV Synchrocyclotron (SC), which came into operation in 1957, was CERN’s first accelerator. It provided beams for CERN’s first experiments in particle and nuclear physics.
