'I see my life in terms of Music…’ Einstein - a life in science and music

<!--HTML-->Brian Foster - University of Oxford Brian Foster is Donald H. Perkins Professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of Balliol College. Foster was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Research Prize in 1999 and the Max Born Medal of the German Physical Society and the Institute of Physics in 2003. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and of the Royal Society, whose Vice-President he was in 2018. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2003. He is a passionate populariser of science, having given over 200 lectures in the last 15 years to an audience totalling around 30,000. He is a member of the Royal Society’s Committee on Public Engagement. He is currently writing a biography of Albert Einstein for Oxford University Press, with an emphasis on his love of music and the violin.
