Model-independent measurement of charm mixing parameters in $D^0 \rightarrow K_S^0 \pi^+ \pi^-$ decays

This thesis presents a measurement of charm mixing and CP-violation parameters using $D^0 \rightarrow K_S^0 \pi^+ \pi^-$ decays.
