Innovative radiation therapy with electrons

This infographic shows an innovative facility for cancer treatment using FLASH radiotherapy and based on CERN's technology . This new facility will use very high-energy electrons (accelerated using CERN’s CLIC high-performance linear electron accelerator) to treat large, deep-seated tumours. It will deliver the radiation dose to the tumour in less than 200 milliseconds, producing less side effects by sparing healthy tissue.
