EN Budget Organisation, Management, and Constraints

Efficient management of financial resources is crucial for all the Departments, and in particular for the EN Department, being responsible for technical systems and for providing support services to the CERN communi-ty. The role of the Department Planning Officer (DPO) is essential, as he/she is ensuring the correctness of the short-term and long-term financial resource planning, and as he/she is providing support to the Department Head for decisions. This paper will detail the role of the DPO, the methodology applied in the EN Department, the links between the different stakeholders (inside and outside the Department), as well as highlighting the constraints related to budget exercises.
