The general specifications for such a detector in terms of resolution, granularity, acceptance and radiation tolerance are discussed. A specific detector layout is proposed and its performance is simulated, discussed and parameterized. This parameterization is then used to evaluate the performance for key benchmark physics topics, such as the precision measurement of the Higgs boson couplings and the discovery reach for several frameworks beyond the Standard Model. |
