description | IMPACT (Intervention Management Planning And Coordination Tool) is a web application used to ob-tain proper safety approvals before being granted access to specific locations. It has been created to unify among CERN departments the declaration of activities in all CERN installa-tions and improve their level of safety. It was first put in production in 2011 and has since become an essential tool at CERN with around 15000 requests created every year. Some of the technologies used in the current implementation have reached their end-of-life, and a partial rewrite is now necessary. This paper describes IMPACT functionalities, the strategy and goals of the partial rewrite project and what this will imply for the users. |
