Sumario:The “TT2 Stripper” is a mechanism located on the accelerator beamline (more precisely on the transfer line between the PS and SPS). This mechanism keeps a plate of a certain material of thin thickness to subtract a certain quantity of electrons from the atoms of the beam. The purpose is then to give an adequate beam for accelerators and downstream experiments. The foils which are stripping the beam can be out or in-beam depending if it has to strip or not the beam.
