Sumario:The Monitored Drift Tubes (MDT) Trigger Processor (MDTTP) will be added to the first-level of the ATLAS muon trigger system in order to improve the accuracy of the candidates' transverse momentum and position estimation. The challenge for the MDTTP would be the processing of all the candidates within the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) bunch crossing while being able to meet the trigger performance and latency requirements. The ongoing work on firmware development and performance validation is presented along with the evolution and latest status of the hardware.
