Sumario: | We introduce a modification to the standard expression for tree-level <math display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> violation in scattering processes at the LHC, which is important when the initial state is not self-conjugate. Based on that, we propose a generic and model-independent search strategy for probing tree-level <math display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> violation in inclusive multilepton signals. We then use TeV-scale 4-fermion operators of the form <math display="inline"><mrow><mi>t</mi><mi>u</mi><mo>ℓ</mo><mo>ℓ</mo></mrow></math> and <math display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>ℓ</mo><mo>ℓ</mo></math> with complex Wilson coefficients as an illustrative example and show that it may generate <math display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="script">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>10</mn><mo>%</mo><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></math> <math display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> asymmetries that should be accessible at the LHC with an integrated luminosity of <math display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1000</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mrow><msup><mrow><mi>fb</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>-</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></math>. |
