Proposal for Defining Eligibilities to Access CERN’s Central Computing Resources

This proposal has been prepared by the IT department at the request of the ED, based on the conclusions draft document written by the Access to Computing Facilities (ACF) Working Group hosted by the former Director of Administration in 2019 and 2020. A consultative process that included Heads of FAP, HR, EP, BE, IPT and Deputy Director of RCS took place to finalise this proposal. CERN, through the IT department and other departments, offers a vast portfolio of centrally provisioned computing resources to its personnel and its user community. The costs for provisioning computing resources are increasing while the needs and expectations of the user base continue to expand and become more diversified.
